Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred Bill 190 ,
reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill 190 is to amend Chapter 24 , Article 10 ,
Section 24-267, Hawaii County Code 1983 relating to traffic
regulations and one-way streets . Subsections 20 , 21 , and 22 of
Section 24-267 presently provide for one-way traffic on Pakalana
Street in Honokaa , on Paauilo School Road, and on the Paauilo School
Park Road during the hours of 7 : 30 a .m. to 8: 15 a .m . and 1 : 30 p.m .
to 2 : 30 p.m. on school days .
Your Committee finds that school closures for the Paauilo School and
the Honokaa High and Elementary School are 1: 15 p .m . on Wednesdays .
Bill 190 adjusts the afternoon traffic pattern on these three
streets and permits one-way traffic from 1 : 00 p .m . to 2: 30 p.m. on
school days .
Your Committee on Public Works concurs with the purpose of Bill 190
and recommends its passage on first reading the County Council .
