Your Committee on Public Works , to which was referred
Resolution 139 , reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution 139 is to request that the Mayor and his
Administration review their program requirements and identify public
facilities which can be considered for lease to private
organizations. Resolution 139 and its transmittal letter ,
Communication 421, both recognize that governments are faced with
increasing maintenance costs and suggests that a method of reducing
these costs would be to consider the leasing of certain public
facilities to the private sector .
Your Committee on Public Works supports the development of this
concept and recommends adoption of Resolution 139 by the County
Council .
