tY Os N• <br /> .� <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII i. <br /> • 4\" c STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �Tf OF•M►•i� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7 13 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br /> DONATION OF $2,000 TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT TO <br /> SUPPORT FIRE SAFETY EDUCATION AND FIRE PREVENTION <br /> WEEK <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo Walmart is donating $2,000 to the Hawaii Fire Department; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used to support fire safety education and Fire <br /> Prevention Week; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts <br /> or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization <br /> procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by <br /> the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash <br /> donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution <br /> process; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter <br /> 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of <br /> Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
