HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 249 Draft 01 2012-2014 .�JMtY Os k,. 4 •COUNTY OF HAWAII '�4 �f* STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 249 13 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR SUBSCRIPTION AGREEMENT WITH THOMPSON REUTERS FOR WESTLAW NEXT WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney relies on their Westlaw Next online legal research service subscription for their trial preparation; and WHEREAS, their current Westlaw Next subscription agreement with Thomson Reuters will expire on December 31, 2013; and WHEREAS, a multi year agreement results in a cost savings over a single year agreement; and WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a multi year subscription agreement with Thompson Reuters for the Westlaw Next online legal research service; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a multi-year Westlaw Next subscription agreement and that sufficient funds will be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk transmit copies of this resolution to the Mayor's Office, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
