Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred Bill 96
amending Chapter 24 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 relating to
Traffic Regulations , reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill 96 is to provide additional sight distance for
pedestrians using the crosswalk on Kilauea Avenue at Hoku Street and
for motorists approaching this crosswalk by providing for a no
parking zone on the makai side of Kilauea Avenue
Your Committee on Public Works , having reviewed the comments of the
Department of Public Works (Comm. 316 ) , concurs with the purpose of
the proposed amendment and recommends passage of Bill 96 on first
reading by the County Council .
