Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred
Resolution 99-85 , reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution 99-85 is to authorize the expansion of the
Veterans ' Cemetery Committee from 9 to 13 members . In doing so ,
Resolution 99-85 further provides that the membership of the
committee shall include one designated representative each from the
American Legion, Club 100 , Hilo Interpreters Club,
442nd Veterans Association, Disabled American Veterans ,
Big Island Retired Military Association, Fleet Reserve Association
and the Veterans of Foreign Wars .
Your Committee is aware that historically, the Veterans ' Cemetery
Committee consisted of designated representatives from the
aforementioned veterans ' organizations . This resolution provides for
greater public participation in the management of our
Veterans ' Cemetery while providing for membership and participation
by veterans ' organizations .
