Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred
Communication 300 reports as follows :
Communication 300 from the Department of Water Supply requests
guidance from the County Council as to the desired procedures for
the disposal of County real property which consists of two abandoned
water tanks and tank sites . (TMK: 4-5-04:78 and TMK: 2-4-39: 12) .
Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed Communiction 300 and
concurs with the recommendations of the Department of Water Supply
that (1 ) if the original owner (grantor of the site) is agreeable to
accept the return of the tank site together with the tank and
appurtenances , then the County of Hawaii shall process the
reconveyance documents; or (2 ) if the original owner (grantor of the
site ) is not agreeable, then the County of Hawaii should advertise
for the sale of the tank site together with the tank and
appurtenances .
The Committee on Public Works recommends that the Council authorize
the Department of Water Supply to proceed with its recommended
courses of action and dispose of these water tank sites .
