The Subcommittee on Beautification, to which was referred
'Resolution No . 80-85 relating to the Arborist Advisory Committee ,
reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution 80-85 is to request the Mayor of the County
of Hawaii to appoint a five-member Arborist Advisory Committee , in
accordance with Chapter 14 , Article 11 , Section 14-61 of the Hawaii
County Code 1983.
The Subcommittee finds that, pursuant to Chapter 58 of the Hawaii
Revised Statutes , the County of Hawaii enacted Ordinance 84-22 which
established the County Arborist Advisory Committee .
It is the purpose of the Committee to assist the County in
identifying and protecting its exceptional trees . In doing so , the
Committee performs as an advisory body to the County Council as well
as to the County 's Planning and Public Works Departments .
The Subcommittee on Beautification recognizes the importance of this
Advisory Committee and believes that it is in the best interest of
this County that this Committee be reappointed by the Mayor . Your
Committee recommends passage of this Resolution by the Council of the
County of Hawaii .
