Your Committee on Public Works submits for Council consideration
Resolution 65-85 which transfers and appropriates $1 ,400 from the
Highway Beautification Miscellaneous Contingency account to the
Mooheau Park Highway Beautification Project Account .
Your Committee has received and accepted the report of its
Subcommittee on Beautification dated June 5 , 1985 which supports
this project of planting a decorative hibiscus hedge along the edge
of the Mooheau Park adjacent to and bordering the Bayfront Highway.
The Subcommittee on Beautification has recommended the release of
$1 ,400 from the Miscellaneous account of the Beautification fund for
this project.
Your Committee has also received input from the Chairman of your
Finance Committee who is aware of this transfer and appropriation.
The Chairman of the Finance Committee does not object to this
Resolution being forwarded from the Public Works Committee to the
full Council for final consideration.
Your Committee on Public Works concurs with the findings and
recommendations of its Subcommittee on Beautifi ation and recommends
adoption of Resolution 65-85 by the Council of t' County of Hawaii .

SUBCOMMITTEE ON BEAUTIFICATION

The Subcommittee on Beautification has reviewed and considered
Communication 182 which requests the release of $1400 from the
County of Hawaii 's Beautification Fund for purposes of planting a
hibiscus decorative hedge along the edge of Mooheau park adjacent to
the Bayfront Highway.
The Subcommittee recognizes that this project was conceptualized in
mid-1984 by the Hilo Woman 's Club and features our official state
flower, the Hibiscus .
The Subcommittee on Beautification is supportive of this project and
recommends that the requested monies be released from the
Beautification Fund. Your Subcommittee submits for consideration
the attached resolution which releases $1400 from the miscellaneous
account to this project .
