Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred
'Communication 144 and Bill 47 relating to the changing of division
and bureau titles within the Department of Public Works , reports as
follows :
The purpose of Bill 47 is to amend Chapter 2, Article 9,
Section 2-41 of the Hawaii County Code to permit simplication and
provide for uniformity in the identification of the Bureaus or
Divisions within the Department of Public Works. The bill
authorizes the following name changes:
1 . Bureau of Plans and Surveys to Engineering and Surveys Division
2. Division of Traffic Safety and Control to Traffic Services
Division
3. Bureau of Building Construction and Inspection to Building
Division
4. Bureau of Road Construction and Maintenance to Highway
Maintenance Division
5 . Bureau of Sewers and Sanitation to Wastewater and Solid Waste
Division
6. Division of Automotive Equipment to Automotive Division
Your Committee on Public Works agrees with the intent and purpose of
Bill 47 and recommends its passage by the Council of the County of
Hawaii .
