Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred
Communication 125 , relating to the Keopu Heights Subdivision Roadway
Reconstruction and Channel Improvement Project , reports as follows:
The purpose of Communication 125 is to present to the County Council
additional information in support of Council adopted
Resolution No. 937-84. When the County Council considered and
adopted Resolution No. 937-84, the Environmental Assessment for the
project had not been filed with the Environmental Council . The
Department of Public Works acknowledges this oversight and now
submits this Environmental Assessment as additional information.
The Chief Engineer has reviewed this Environmental Assessment and has
made a determination that it is adequate and , in fact , correct .
The County Council is being asked, in view of the late submittal of
an environmental assessment , if it still is supportive of the project .
The Committee on Public Works has also accepted the written testimony
and considered the oral presentations of Mr . Howard Green and
Mr . Leslie Thuet on their concerns of the project .
Your Committee on Public Works , having considered testimonies both
from the public and from the Department of Public Works and having
reviewed the environmental assessment , concurs with the
recommendation of the Mayor and recommends . hat the Council reaffirm
its approval of the Keopu Heights Subdivisio roadway Reconstruction
and Channel Improvement Proje- and it zesol tion No. 937-84.
