Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred
Communication 118, reports as follows :
Communication 118 transmits for consideration and adoption, Bill 41
amending Ordinance No . 524 (adopted October 4 , 1972) , as amended ,
relating to the cost of improvements in "Improvement District No. 10 :
North Kona, Hawaii , " and fixing the portions of the cost to be
assessed against the benefited properties and against the owners
thereof respectively and imposing a lien against each lot or parcel
of land assessed according to the assessment in Kona, Hawaii .
The purpose of Bill 41 is to amend the Assessment Roll of the
Improvement District recognizing a five-lot subdivision of the
Dr . Franklin D. Murphy property. The Committee has been advised that
the assessments has been prorated and that the total assessment of
the sudivided lots remain the same . Your Committee has also been
advised that the proposed ordinance has been reviewed by the
Corporation Counsel as to form and that the lot owners have deposited
with the County, a sufficient amount to cover the cost of making this
allocation.
Your Committee on Public Works concurs with the intent and purpose of
Bill 41 and recommends that it pass first r-ading .
