Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred Resolution
"No . 247-90, reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution No . 247-90 is to direct the Department of
Public Works to use funds appropriated for the integrated waste
management program to prepare an integrated waste management plan; to
ask the Department of Health to assist the County in developing its
integrated waste management plan; and to ask the Department of Public
Works to submit its plan to the Council for review and adoption.
Your Committee finds that it is in the public interest for the County
to re-examine its present waste management practices; take a
comprehensive approach to waste management and establish a plan to
guide the integrated waste management program.
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord with the purpose of
Resolution No. 247-90 and recommends its adoption by the County
Council .
