Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Resolution
,,'N' o . 461-88, reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No . 461-88 is to urge the State Department
of Transportation .Higli7vways Division to provide a safe 'road from above
the junction of Mamalahoa Highway and Palani Road to Kailua-Kona; to
consider a recently proposed alternate route; and to give the project
a high priority which will allow completion of the design .
Your Committee considered Resolution No . 461-88 on June 7, 1988 and
referred it to the Administration for comments and recommendations .
Your Committee considered Resolution No . 461-88 again on October 11 ,
1988 . Your Committee Chairwoman stated that she and Councilwoman
Jitchaku-Inouye introduced another resolution supporting the Palani
Road concerns .
Your Committee finds that the proposed alternate route has been
already addressed through Resolution No . 478-88.
Your Committee concurred with the Chairwoman 's recommendation to
receive and close the file on Resolution No . 461-88.
Your Committee on Public Works recommends t t the County Council
receive and close the file on Resoluti n No . 61-88 .
