Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 228-13, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 228-13, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication
No. 526 dated November 14, 2013, authorizes the Department of Research and Development to
award a grant to Kailua Village Improvement District.
The grant of$30,000 would be used for the 2014 Active Lifestyle, Cultural & Special Events
program in Historic Kailua Village.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 25, of the Hawai`i County Code (2005 Edition as amended),the
County may provide grant funds to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations providing programs and
services determined to be in the public's interest.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 228-13, and
recommends its adoption.
