Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred
Resolution No. 232-13, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 232-13, transmitted by Assistant Corporation Counsel Katherine A. Garson via
Communication 533, dated November 13, 2013, authorizes the abandonment of portions of
various slope and drainage easements on TMKs: 2-5-061-093; 2-5-061-094; 2-5-061-075;
2-5-061-034; 2-5-006-002 to the underlying fee simple property owner, situated in the District of
South Hilo, Island, County and State of Hawai`i.
These easements, located along the Puainako Extension and acquired from Brilhante-Hawai`i
Inc., are physically and economically unsuitable or undesirable for development utilization as
separate units by reason of their location, size and shape, and are remnants to be abandoned as
set forth in Sections 2-110, 2-111 and 2-118 of the Hawai`i County Code.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution No. 232-13, and recommends its adoption.
