Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 147,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 147, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H.W. Lee, via Communication No. 513
dated October 31, 2013, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking), Section 24-281,
Schedule 29 (Parking prohibited during certain hours on certain streets; tow-away zone), under(c)
South Hilo by deleting existing item (29) and adding"Derby Lane, northeast side, from a point
twenty-seven feet northwest of Wilson Street to a point forty-two feet southeast of Haft Street,
from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m."
The purpose of this measure is to update the Hawaii county Code to match the conditions that exist in
the field. The subject area of Wilson Street between Kilauea Avenue and Derby Lane is too narrow for
parking on both sides of the road.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and intent of
Bill No. 147 and recommends it passage on first reading.
