Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 162
reports as follows:
Bill No. 162, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. Lee, via Communication No. 553
dated November 27, 2013 amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-284, Schedule
32 (Two-hour parking areas), subsection (c), South Hilo, of the Hawai`i County Code 1983
(2005 Edition, as amended) by revising item 17 to read "Kino`ole Street, northeast (makai) side,
the first seven stalls southeast of Ponahawai Street;" and item 19 to read, "Kino`ole Street,
southwest (mauka) side, the first seven stalls southeast of Ponahawai Street excluding the freight
loading zone as set forth in Section 24-288 (Schedule 36, Freight Loading Zones)."
The purpose of revising item 17 is to revise the existing two-hour parking in the are based on
request from the public; and the purpose of revising item 19 is to update the Hawai`i County
Code to match what exists in the field.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bill No. 162 and recommends it passage on first reading.
