Subject: PLEASE! Don't Allow Diversions to Kings Trail!
Aloha County Council Members,
I'm writing to urge you not to allow Kohala Kai LLC developers to alter the ancient, historic Ala Loa trail.
This would deny public access to the area, especially the shoreline, prevent customary, traditional
practices and erase many Hawaiian cultural sites in the area forever.
Aside from these reasons, I'm certain you are aware of the many implications and complexities of the
issues at stake for Hawaii's citizens that would be trodden on and usurped by allowing Kohala Kai
developers to make any changes to the trail.
They have already graded part of the trail and should be fined for the destruction they've caused. They
don't care!
Their flagrant disregard has served to show us that their intentions are not good.
They seek to strip the public of our rights! They have no respect for us or our culture. They want to
privatize the coastline.
Please uphold our rights! Stop them!
