Today's rezoning request is not about the approval of 14.9 acres for
43 lots... ...it's about 82 acres and 400 + lots when 1 owner/developer
controls the 82 acres which is part of the 96 acres that was
consolidated and resubdivided in 2004.
More lots equals more houses, more houses equals more homes
which equals more vehicular traffic.
How does putting more traffic on Hualalai Rd. make substandard
Hualalai Rd. safer?
We do not understand why the County Planning Dept. has not
required a comprehensive traffic study on the 96 acres that were
consolidated and resubdivided in 2004. The Planning Dept. knows
about the 96 acre Resubdivision because they approved it.
Why is the Planning Dept. addressing each 14.9 acre tract
separately? Prior to parcel 42 being successfully rezoned (due to the
public rezoning notice being sent to the cows) the other 3 parcels (40,
41 & 43) had applied for rezoning but withdrew their request a few
years back. We now have parcel 43 before us. Going on the basis the
Council is going to approve the applicants request, parcel 40 & 41 will
soon follow with their request. Where is the planning?
In all due respect... .our comments to some of the Planning Dept.
planners and testimony before the Planning Commission members
on this topic have fallen on deaf ears.
Do the citizens concerns not matter?
