Participated as a mentor in the DOE Kahua Teacher Induction Program which incorperated Hawaiian language,culture and history awareness for new teachers.Encompassed the importance of culture-based activities utilizing traditional chemistry such as voyaging vessels and navigation. Taught students to recognize their strengths as an individual and as part of the collective whole and the community.Responsible for conducting double-hulled canoe rides for the student to encompass the importance of Hawaiian Culture relationship of all elements from upland slopes to the deepest parts of the ocean. Sailed students on a double hull Hawaiian Traditional Canoe and provided opportunities to learn cultural values and how it relates to music. .bonin island....ogasawara shoto I build and sail traditional Hawaiian sailing canoes to teach stewardship responsibilities and values of our still existing Ahupua'a mainly Hamakua specifically Waipi'o valley And I strongly disagree with any removal, repositioning,or development around the alahakai I was fortunate to be raised sailing Hawaiian canoes like Hokule'a, Makali'l,Kaihekauila and many more...As Wa'a Ohana..As canoe families we highly depend on maintaining and accessing the alakahakai I have worked with public and private educators to create programs and opportunities to innovate Hawaiian Culture back into the core foundation of the islands.Worked with youth and adults of all ages integrating ancient techniques of building and sailing traditional voyaging canoes. Implemented Ancient Hawaiian ecosystem based management(Ahupua'a)throughout the Hawaiian Islands to reinvigorate environmental,organic non GMO cultural sustainability. I now work at Pu'ukohola Historical National Park in Kawaihae giving first come first serve free Hawaiian sailing canoe rides open to the public 3 days a week to educate and bring awareness to the value to our Ahupua'a and all our access trails including the alakahakai which will begin January. People need to be aware how beautiful Hawaiians were able to translate universal laws of nature in to the same languages of the top nations of earth...Its simple..The land is Chief...all people of the world have access but no one has rights over the Iand...can't own it but everyone is responsible for stewardship.
