Subject: Written Public Testimony In Support of Bill 113
To whom it may concern,
I am writing from Kona, Big Island, Hawaii, and want to express my support for Bill
113,
which will stop the growing and testing of new GMO crops.
We already have enough GMO farming on the Big Island with papayas and other
crops.
They claim to have "saved the papaya industry"with GMOs, but that doesn't make it
ok to plant more GMO crops, especially if it's unnecessary.
These corporations (ie. Monsanto) are so evil, I bet they will bring the pest or disease
to a crop just to create the demand for GMO.
This bill will stop that from happening, hopefully.
As an organic Kona coffee farmer, I am very aware of the hazards of open air
spraying round up, and other poisonous chemicals that the GMO companies use.
They even put the poison in the plant genetics, so when you eat it it doesn't matter
how much you wash it... the poison is in the plant.
(for example Bt Corn:put the bacteria Bt gene in the plant... now the poison is in the
corn we are eating)
That is why I make the choice to grow organically... without GMOs, or Round Up, or
chemical fertilizer.
Comm. No. 3 93. 3 410.

Wind and rain will spread the chemicals around the land and into our water supply.
That is very bad for the environment and our health!!!
These chemicals cause cancer and other health problems.
We don't want cancer... and we don't want our future generations to be exposed to
these chemicals either.
this can be stopped before it too late ... now is the time!!!
Big Island does not need the food, or the money from these GMO companies, or their
products.
Please pass Bill 113, 1 fully support it i00%
Thank you,
Bryce Bateman
