I strongly support Bill 135 raising the age of tobacco sales to 21. I support this because I have witnessed family members and close friends struggle in life because of this addiction. This is something that many people have been doing since they were in high school like us. In speaking with my mom, she would never have picked up this addicting habit during her high school years if it weren't so available in the 80's. We have made many strides by eliminating cigarette machines, and tightening the belt on stores to require ID for those who buy these "cancer sticks". My mom's biggest regret is that she even took that first drag. Although there are many sides to this debate, why make it easier for a teenager to make a bad decision to start a habit that they will ultimately regret during their adult life. Ultimately regret by compromising their own health or even worse the health of their family. Sincerely, Rachel Sato,Junior at Waiakea High School Rachel Sato Comm. No, V 7 °?S Ref.To: P/council Ref.
