Re: Resolution to Negotiate Lease •
The County of Hawai`i received stewardship of land identified by tax map key (TMK) (3) 2-5-
028:017 situated within Pi`ihonua in the district of South Hilo, by way of State executive order 1931,
for recreational and community services. The County currently leases this property to Parents and
Children Together (PACT) on a month to month basis. PACT wishes to enter into a new, 30 year
lease in order to qualify for federal funding to improve the facilities, and to further establish their
community programs.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Director of Finance to negotiate the lease of this real
property. This resolution also authorizes the Mayor of the County of Hawai`i to execute said lease
agreement on behalf of the County of Hawai`i, following approval by the Council.

PREPARE A COUNTY COUNCIL SUBMITTAL TO NEGOTICIATE A LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY ,
BEING A PORTION OF THE FORMER PI'IHONUA SCHOOL, SITUATED AT PI'IHONUA, DISTRICT OF
SOUTH HILO, ISLAND, COUNTY AND STATE OF HAWAI'I AND IDENTIFIED AS BEING A PORTION OF
TAX MAP KEY (3) 2-5-028:017, TO PARENTS AND CHILDREN TOGETHER.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
