RESOLUTION NO. 274 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR TOBACCO-FREE SIGNS AT COUNTY PARKS,
BEACHES AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES IN EAST HAWAII.
WHEREAS, Chapter 14, Article 4, Section 14-21 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005
Edition, as amended), prohibits the use of tobacco products at all County parks, beaches and
recreational facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation plans to post signs at County parks,
beaches and recreational facilities to educate the public on the prohibition of tobacco products; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the
Department of Parks and Recreation for the purchase of tobacco free signs; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
