Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 178,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 178, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. Lee, via Communication No. 588
dated December 18, 2013, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 6, Section 24-288, Schedule
36 (Freight loading and unloading zones), subsection (c), South Hilo, of the Hawaii County
Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) by adding "Keawe Street, southwest (mauka) side, from
a point sixteen feet northwest (Hamakua) of Kalakaua Street and extending sixteen feet in the
northwesterly (Hamakua) direction" and renumbering as required.
The purpose of this measure is to add a loading zone in an area where there is a high
concentration of businesses and loading and unloading activities are frequent.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Bill No. 178 and recommends its passage on first reading.
