SUBJECT: Presentation on Honokahau National Historic Park and a Water Management
Area Designation
I request that a site visit to the Honokahau National Historic Park be placed on the agenda in the
Committee on Agricultural, Water, and Energy Sustainability on February 18, 2014. This guided
tour will be two hours long from the arrival time of the Committee to the park.
The Superintendent of the Park, Tammy Ann Duchesne and her team will be present to guide the
Committee around the park to enable understanding of the significance that sufficient water
brings to the park. The early morning is the coolest part of the day so the Committee should
arrive at the park at 8:00, 8:30, or 9:00 a.m. I leave it to the Chairperson to decide which time is
best for the Committee to meet at the WHCC and carpool to the park to make the best start time
for the tour and to return expeditiously to the Council Chambers to continue with the Committee
meetings.
