RESOLUTION NO. 283 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE 2014 PUNA REGIONAL EMERGENCY
PREPAREDNESS FAIR.
WHEREAS, due to Puna's geographical location, large land mass and lack of sufficient
infrastructure, a key priority of the community is to plan for an emergency response, evacuation and
other safety and health related issues for any disaster; and
WHEREAS, the Puna Community Development Plan's Committee on Connectivity and
Emergency Response and the Hawai`i County Civil Defense Agency will be presenting the second
Puna Regional Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Fair at the Kea'au High School on August 30, 2014;
and
WHEREAS, the inaugural 2013 PREP Fair was a success, bringing together government,
businesses, non-profit organizations and the public, and providing important emergency plan
information; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the
Hawai`i County Civil Defense Agency for the 2014 Puna Regional Emergency Preparedness (PREP)
Fair; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Civil Defense Administrator and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
