Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Ida H. Otake to the County of Hawai'i Merit Appeals
Board. Ms. Otake is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. She retired in 2009 from the State of
Hawai'i Department of Health after 42 years of service.
Ms. Otake is a past member and chair of the North Hawai'i Coalition Against Drugs and
the Kohala Coalition Against Drugs. She is also a past member of the State Health
Planning Development Agency— Sub Area Council and the Native Hawaiian Health
Task Force. Ms. Otake states that she is not affiliated with any political party. If
confirmed, she will serve a term to end on December 31, 2018.
