Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Peter L. Hendricks, of Council District 1 to the County of Hawai'i
Police Commission. Mr. Hendricks is a 50-year resident of Hawai'i. He was an education
specialist with the State of Hawai'i Department of Land and Natural Resources from 1988 to
2000. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Hendricks served as the County of Hawai'i's Deputy Managing
Director. He is presently retired.
Mr. Hendricks is the past president and current member of both the Waimea Community
Assocation and the Kawaihae Canoe Club. He is the vice president of the Waimea
Preservation Association, a member of the Waimea Nature Park, and he volunteers with the
YMCA. Mr. Hendricks states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will
serve a term that ends on December 31, 2018, replacing Carol Ignacio, whose term ended on
December 31, 2013.
