Subject: I support Bill 113
Dear Council Members,
I am asking each of you to vote for Bill 113, and vote for the 'aina, healthy citizens, sustainability, and
the island's self-sustainability.
The biggest concern is the farmers who are worried about their livelihoods. I understand this. However,
it is not right to endanger the 'aina and human health to assuage their fears. I would love for our
farmers to receive whatever assistance they need to help them transition to non-GMO crops. I am fine
with my tax money going towards this. Also, it is to the farmers' detriment to allow Monsanto to have
so much control over their crops. Let's empower our farmers to grow healthy crops in a way that is
more sustainable, and more self-sustainable.
I'm so proud of Kaua'i for making international history with their anti-GMO bill, and I am looking
forward to the Big Island being the next to be respected for this globally. We will all be watching to see
how you vote on this issue.
Aloha and Mahalo,
Kristen O'Guin 96778
