To Whom It May Concern :
Lawmakers, Representatives, Delegates, Voters in the House, etc.
I urge you to vote for any and every Bill banning, restricting, and limiting GMOs on the
sacred islands of Hawaii - now and forever.
I have worked in the field of health and nutrition for over twenty years, and from all my
studies pertaining to the matter of genetically modified organisms - in the food we eat,
our livestock eats, and that are presently devastating the bee pollinators on which our
food security relies, I have found overwhelming evidence, scientific, anecdotal, and
personal, to support the conclusion that GMOs are harmful, poisonous (as in causing
cancer), and debilitating to the health of every living organism, in short, anathema to
all life forms and the Earth.
The time for allowing corporate domination and abuse of our planet is at its end,
and it is vital we meet this conflict with strength and courage. I consider Monsanto
Public Enemy #1
for splicing pesticides such as Roundup into the DNA of our seed banks. Hawaii
has already been compromised by the genetically modified rainbow papaya,
which threatens to hybridize all organic varieties.
Hawaii is on the verge of leading the world in sustainable agriculture and food
security programs. I work with school gardens and beekeepers, together we learn
about ancient Hawaiian land cultivation and water irrigation.
We have creative solutions to reclaim and ensure the vitality of these islands, and
one of the first steps we must take is to jettison GMOS! and to grow our plants
from healthy, reproducing heirloom seeds. Monsanto's sterile GMOs are anti-
thesis to Nature! There is no precedent for allowing them to jeopardize and
control the Earth's food security in this way! Beware!
Thank-you for doing the right thing - PONO - for our future generations, and to
preserve the integrity of our role as caretakers on this beautiful living eco-system
we call home!
