SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
SECTION 24-280 - BANYAN DRIVE-NO PARKING AT ANYTIME AREAS
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking),
Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), subsection (c) (South Hilo), be
amended by deleting existing item and renumbering as required:
[(12)] [Banyan Drive, south (golf course) side, from a point five hundred forty feet east
of Lihiwai Street and extending four hundred two feet in the northeasterly
direction.]
We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking),
Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), subsection (c) (South Hilo), be
amended by revising existing item:
(14) Banyan Drive, NORTHwest (makai) side, from a point [five hundred eight]
SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE feet [northeast] SOUTHWEST of THE
NORTHERN INTERSECTION OF Lihiwai Street and extending [three hundred
nee] SIX HUNDRED FORTY-NINE feet in the southwesterly direction.
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking),
Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), subsection (c) (South Hilo), be
amended by adding new item and renumbering as required:

INTERSECTION OF LIHIWAI STREET AND EXTENDING ONE HUNDRED
THIRTY-TWO FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE NORTHERN INTERSECTION OF
LIHIWAI STREET.
( ) BANYAN DRIVE, NORTHWEST (GOLF COURSE) SIDE, FROM A POINT TWO
HUNDRED TWENTY-TWO FEET NORTHEAST OF BANYAN WAY AND
EXTENDING FIFTY-FIVE FEET SOUTHWEST OF BANYAN WAY.
The purpose of the deletion of item 12 is to increase parking in this heavily used
recreational area of Hilo. The revision of item 14 and the addition of the new items is to
update the Hawaii County Code to match what exists in the field.
