RESOLUTION NO. 309 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE FUNDS THAT WILL SUPPORT THE
"TEEN DATING VIOLENCE PREVENTION PEER EDUCATION CONFERENCES".
WHEREAS, the Committee on the Status of Women is coordinating the "Teen Dating
Violence Prevention Peer Education Conferences"; and
WHEREAS, the speaker for these conferences, Dr. Jill Murray, is regarded as the leading
expert on the subject of teen dating abuse in the United States as a licensed marriage and family
therapist, authoring three books on domestic violence; and
WHEREAS, funds are needed to bring these valuable conferences to the Puna district to
increase awareness of the harmful, far-reaching effects of teen dating violence and help progress
towards ending these acts in the community; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the
Prosecuting Attorney to support "Teen Dating Violence Prevention Peer Education Conferences";
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
