RESOLUTION NO. 311 1..4
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE BUS TICKETS TO CHILD &
FAMILY SERVICE FOR THEIR CLIENTS WITH TRANSPORTATION NEEDS TO
AND FROM COUNSELING PROGRAMS.
WHEREAS, Child & Family Service, a nonprofit organization, adminsters the Family
Strengthening Services program, which provides services that seek to reduce child abuse through
coordinating parenting classes, counseling, and therapy; and
WHEREAS, 251 clients in East Hawai`i have received services through this program in
2013; and
WHEREAS, Child& Family Service has identified that a majority of these clients do not
have access to transportation to and from services and funding for this need has not been
secured; and
WHEREAS, the Mass Transit Agency provides islandwide public transportation for a
fee; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Mass Transit Agency to provide bus tickets to Child& Family Service for their clients with
transportation needs to and from counseling programs; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Mass Transit Administrator and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
