Re: Per Capita Debt
As requested, my estimate of the amount of the County's per capita debt aRer the issuance of
$30 million in new bonds and the refunding of the 1978 bonds is $1,175 per capita. This is
based on the following assumptions:
° The principal amount of the bonds sold to refund the 1978 bonds will be equal to
the outstanding principal on those bonds, or $18,355,000.
° The 1978 sinking fund will not be used to offset any debt service.
° Reseazch and Development population estimate of 141,500.
Ten years ago, at June 30, 1989, the per capita debt was $485. Two years ago, at
June 30, 1997, it was $997.
