Subject: Strongly support RESOLUTION 272-14
I strongly support Resolution 272-14, a policy statement that Hawaii County opposes state
legislation that guts its home rule authority.
Home rule is the heart of democracy. We here on the Island of Hawaii know what is in our
own best interests - let each island maintain its own kuleana. Hawaii Island can be a
model of sustainable practices for the rest of the state, if we can keep transnational
corporate money influence from perverting the democratic process.
