RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF A RIGHT OF WAY PARCEL
NEEDED FOR THE MANONO STREET IMPROVEMENTS,JOB NO. P-3828
SITUATED AT WAIAKEA, DISTRICT OF SOUTH HILO, COUNTY AND STATE OF
HAWAII, BEING TAX MAP KEY: (3) 2-2-036:132 (POR.), FROM VIOLET K.
CAMARA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, Violet K. Camara(hereinafter referred to as "Camara") is the owner of a
right of way parcel needed for the Manono Street Improvements, Job No. P-3828 situated at
Waiakea, District of South Hilo, County and State of Hawai`i, identified as Tax Map
Key: (3) 2-2-036:132 (por.), consisting of approximately plus or minus 500 square feet
delineated on Exhibit "1" attached hereto and hereinafter referred to as "Parcel 6", and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i is proceeding with the widening of Manono Street
between Lanikaula and Kekuanao`a Streets. In order to complete the project, the County of
Hawai`i needs to acquire this 500 square feet right of way; and
WHEREAS, Camara wishes to donate Parcel 6 to the County of Hawai`i to improve
bicycle and pedestrian accessibility and vehicular circulation, as well as the drainage conditions
in the area; and
WHEREAS, such donation has been approved by the Planning Department, Department
of Public Works, Department of Water Supply, Department of Environmental Management, and
the Real Property Tax Division; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County of Hawai`i, may accept gifts or donations of real property; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter, the County of

Hawaii accepts the donation of the right of way parcel,that is, Parcel 6, situated at Waiakea,
District of South Hilo, County and State of Hawaii, identified as Tax Map Key: (3)2-2-036:132
(por.), consisting of approximately plus or minus 500 square feet fronting the subject parcel,
delineated on Exhibit"1"attached hereto from Camara, said donation is to improve bicycle and
pedestrian accessibility and vehicular circulation, as well as the drainage conditions in the area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Violet K. Camara, 608 Leilani Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging
this generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to:
(1) Mayor William P. Kenoi; (2)the Department of Public Works; (3) Department of Finance;
and(3) Office of the Corporation Counsel.
