RESOLUTION NO. 323 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR TOBACCO-FREE SIGNS AT COUNTY PARKS AND
RECREATIONAL FACILITIES IN PUNA.
WHEREAS, Chapter 14, Article 4, Section 14-21 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005
Edition, as amended), prohibits the use of tobacco products at all County parks and recreational
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Coalition for a Tobacco Free Hawai`i is working with the Department of
Parks and Recreation and has identified the need for at least 400 more tobacco-free grounds signs to be
posted at these locations to effectively create awareness and educate the public of this prohibition; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the
Department of Parks and Recreation for the purchase and posting of tobacco-free grounds signs; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Parks and Recreation Director and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
