RESOLUTION NO. 33
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL
YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR
AGREEMENT FOR A NEW PHONE SYSTEM FOR THE PROSECUTING
ATTORNEY'S HILO OFFICE
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other
obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one
fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the phone system currently in use by the Hilo Prosecutor's Office is seven (7) years
old and obsolete; and
WHEREAS, spare parts are no longer being manufactured for this phone system; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement to purchase a
new phone system to replace the one described above; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into multi-year agreement for the
purchase of a new phone system, to allow the Prosecutor's Office to replace their Hilo
Office's current system.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement will be for a period of five (5) years, at a
cost of approximately $18,000 per year.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit
copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, Prosecutor's Office, and the Finance
Department.
