SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Resolution No. 243-13, Relating to District 6
Contingency Relief Funds for Bus Tickets to be Used by the Residents of the
Child& Family Service-West Hawai`i Domestic Abuse Shelter
Please find attached proposed amendments to Resolution No. 243-13. The amendments are
illustrated below via Ramseyer format(material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken, material to
be added is underscored; all bolded for emphasis only).
1. The title of Resolution No. 243-13 is amended to read as follows:
"A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN
APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT
AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR BUS
[PASSES] TICKETS FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE CHILD AND FAMILY
SERVICE—WEST HAWAII DOMESTIC ABUSE SHELTER."
2. The third whereas clause of Resolution No. 243-13 is amended to read as follows:
"WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated
to the Mass Transit Agency for the purchase of bus [passes] tickets for the residents
of the West Hawai`i Domestic Abuse Shelter; now, therefore,"

3. The enacting clause of Resolution No. 243-13 is amended to read as follows:
"BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

WHEREAS, the Mass Transit Agency provides public transportation around the island;
and
WHEREAS, the residents of the West Hawai`i Domestic Abuse Shelter need an
alternative mode of transportation to work, medical appointments, and legal assistance; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Mass Transit Agency for the purchase of bus tickets for the residents of the West Hawai`i
Domestic Abuse Shelter; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Mass Transit Administrator and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
