The Department of Parks and Recreation desires to enter into a multi-year agreement to lease this facility for various activities for the neighborhood community such as congregate dining, information and assistance, classes and workshops, and meetings and assessments. Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the County to enter into a three year agreement (with two renewal extensions) with the Hawai`i Public Housing Authority for lease of Pahala Senior Center, 96-1169 Holei Street, Pahala, Ka`u, Hawaii 96777, with an estimated monthly cost of $125. Tax Map Key: 9-6-17:37 Lease terms will be for 3yrs with 2 renewal extensions of 1yr. $125 per month, per site shall be paid for shared utility costs. B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): The Department of Parks and Recreation is currently utilizing the location as the nutrition site to provide meals for the elderly. The Hawaii Public Housing Authority has agreed to enter into a 3 yr lease agreement to allow the nutrition center to continue operations in the upcoming years.
