Re: Operating Budget
The Department of Parks and Recreation's Elderly Recreation Services (ERS) is offering more
classes to the elderly, and with greater participation than anticipated for the current fiscal year.
The classes are funded by charging for services, and in order to accept and utilize the increased
revenue, an additional $22,600 is being added to the $67,400 appropriated in the ERS Section
Activities account in the current fiscal year's Operating Budget. Enclosed is a bill for an
ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these additional funds into the
Department's ERS Section Activities account, bringing the total appropriation to $90,000.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Council action is needed to amend the Operating Budget to accomodate increases in ERS activities as more
classes are being offered as well as higher participation in classes.
Funds collected will go towards materials, equipment, & other costs associated with ERS activities.
