SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
SECTION 24-280 - PANIOLO PLACE-NEW NO PARKING ANYTIME ZONE
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5. Parking, Section
24-280, Schedule 28. No parking at anytime, Paragraph (e) Kohala be amended by adding
new item and renumbering as required:
( ) PANIOLO PLACE, NORTH SIDE.
This amendment is being proposed based on a concern by a resident on Paniolo Place
that when cars park on the north side of Paniolo Place, they are actually in the travel
way. Paniolo Place is a County road with a fifty foot right-of-way. The subject
pavement width is approximately thirty-three feet wide with the northern twenty feet for
vehicular travel and the remaining thirteen feet serving as a shoulder. The goal of this
change is that parking will be restricted on the north side and parking will continue to be
allowed on the south side.
