RESOLUTION NO. 347 14
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL
YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR
AGREEMENT WITH THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF THE BIG ISLAND AND
WITH GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF HAWAII, INC., TO IMPLEMENT THE HAWAII
TEEN OUTREACH PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other
obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one
fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Prosecutor's Office is receiving federal funds to be used to implement the Hawaii
Teen Outreach Program (HITOP) in the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island, and Goodwill Industries of Hawaii, Inc. are
501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations selected through the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to implement
the HITOP program; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement with the Boys and
Girls Club of the Big Island, and Goodwill Industries of Hawaii, Inc. in order to implement the HITOP
program; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into multi-year agreement in order to allow
the Prosecutor's Office to implement the Hawaii Teen Outreach Program.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations
of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement will be for a period of two (2) years, with
federal funds being utilized in the amount of approximately $67,000 per year.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies
of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, Prosecutor's Office, and the Finance Department.
