REGARDING: Communication No. 717/Bill No. 213

TITLE: An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 06-144 which
amended Ordinance No. 98-98, which reclassified lands
from Single Family Residential— 10,000 square feet
(RS-10) to Industrial Commercial Mixed—20,000 square
feet (MCX-20) at Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawai`i, covered
by tax map key 2-2-037:029.
EXPLANATION: The area covers 21,050 square feet and the applicant is
Waterfall Entertainment, Inc. The change of zone was
initially approved by Ordinance No. 98-98 to allow for a
convenience store, restaurant, and/or retail outlets on
Kanoelehua Avenue in Hilo. The Windward Planning
Commission forwards its favorable recommendation for the
applicant's request for a 180-day time extension to
Condition B (water commitment payment), and a five-year
time extension to Condition C (completion of construction).
AMENDMENTS: Comm. No. Introducer Approved/Disapproved
(none)
RECOMMENDATION: Passage of Bill No. 213 on first reading.
