' COUNTY OF HAWAII -• ��' / • STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 355 14 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE AND ALTERNATE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE HAWAII STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND NOMINATING A REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND A REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS. WHEREAS, the Hawai`i State Association of Counties ("HSAC") is a nonprofit corporation comprised of members of the four county councils of the State of Hawai`i; and WHEREAS, each county council represented on HSAC is a member of the National Association of Counties ("NACo") and the Western Interstate Region ("WIR"), an organization comprised of western counties affiliated with NACo; and WHEREAS, HSAC bylaws require that prior to April 15 of each year, each County Council appoints one of its members to serve as an officer on the HSAC Executive Committee and designates an alternate representative; and WHEREAS, HSAC bylaws require that in making the appointment, each council shall delegate to the appointees sufficient authority to formulate the proposed slate of officers; and WHEREAS, HSAC bylaws further state that HSAC shall have two (2) directors serving on the NACo Board of Directors and two (2) directors serving on the WIR Board of Directors who are nominated to the position by the HSAC Executive Committee and the individual councils; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Council Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi is hereby appointed as its representative to the HSAC Executive Committee for the term beginning July 1, 2014. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Council Member Dru Mamo Kanuha is hereby appointed as Hawai'i County Council's alternate representative to the HSAC Executive Committee for the term beginning July 1, 2014. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of the HSAC Executive Committee are delegated the sufficient authority to formulate the slate of officers for the term beginning July 1, 2014.
