Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 318-14, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 318-14, transmitted by Deputy Corporation Counsel Joseph Kamelamela via
Communication No. 708, dated February 18, 2014, accepts the donation of a right-of-way parcel
needed for the Manono Street Improvements, Job No. P-3828 situated at Waiakea, District of
South Hilo, County and State of Hawaii, being Tax Map Key: 2-2-036:132 (POR.), from
Ms. Violet K. Camara.
This parcel, being approximately 500 square feet, is needed to improve bicycle and pedestrian
accessibility, vehicular circulation, and drainage conditions in the area.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County,may accept gifts or donations of real property.
Council Member Poindexter spoke in support of this donation and expressed her gratitude to
Ms. Camara
A letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution will be sent to Ms. Camara, 608 Leilani Street,
Hilo, Hawaii 96820, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 318-14, and
recommends its adoption.
