V01p <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 358 14 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO LA`I`OPUA 2020 FOR <br /> THE 2014 PRINCE KUHIO HO`OLAULE`A. <br /> WHEREAS, this year's Prince Kuhio Ho`olaule`a is scheduled for April 12, 2014, at the <br /> West Hawai`i Civic Center to celebrate and honor the legacy of Prince Jonah Kuhio <br /> Kalaniana`ole Pi`ikoi, who was the first royal native Hawaiian delegate to the United States <br /> Congress; and <br /> WHEREAS, La`i`Opua 2020 is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization and cosponsors the <br /> Prince Kuhio Ho`olaule`a with the County of Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, Lai`Opua 2020 promotes unity by establishing social, educational, <br /> recreational, medical, and cultural services, programs, and infrastructure that assist the residents <br /> of Hawai`i County; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency <br /> Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution <br /> identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the <br /> grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to La`i`Opua 2020 for expenses <br /> associated with the 2014 Prince Kuhio Ho`olaule`a; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
