RESOLUTION NO. 363 14
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL
YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR
AGREEMENT WITH HAWAIIAN TELCOM FOR INTEGRATED SERVICES DIGITAL
NETWORK PRIMARY RATE INTERFACE SERVICE
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other
obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one
fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, general telephone service for the County of Hawaii is provided through three (3)
Integrated Services Digital Network Primary Rate Interface (ISDN PRI) circuits which provides phone
numbers and dial tone for over four hundred (400) unique phone numbers; and
WHEREAS, our prior multi-year agreement has expired and we are currently being charged at a
non-discounted rate; and
WHEREAS, a multi-year agreement will result in a significant cost savings; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a three (3) year agreement with Hawaiian
Telcom to provide Integrated Services Digital Network Primary Rate Interface service in Hilo and at
the West Hawaii Civic Center; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into multi-year agreement for ISDN PRI
service as indicated above.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit
copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, Department of Information Technology, and
the Finance Department.
